As a distributor, SSSI had to be able to quote better and faster in order to market itself effectively. Throughout the years, SSSI had been approached to quote equipment losses due to natural disasters, fires, etc. Unlike traditional quotes, though, the prospective clients requested two sets of numbers, one for them and one much higher for their insurance carrier. The latter number was typically asked to be upwards of 25% higher than the standard selling price. Needless to say, SSSI declined those prospects' business.
